Hidden Clue Is About Helping Without Being Caught
Hidden Clue is not a normal word guessing game. One Guide already knows the answer and must help the group find it, but if the help is too obvious the Guide becomes easy to identify. After a correct guess, everyone looks back and votes for the player who seemed to know too much.
Host tip
The host moderates questions. Ask one at a time, keep answers short, and move to guessing once the discussion has enough clues.
What makes it fun
The round has two layers: guess the word, then identify who quietly guided the group.
Best groups
It suits groups that enjoy discussion, reading answers, and short five-minute rounds.
New player warning
The Guide is not trying to make the group fail. They are helping, but must do it subtly.
Example round
If the secret word is library, the Guide might say it is a place where people need focus, but should not immediately mention shelves of books. Seekers collect clues and choose an answer.
