How to Play Hidden Clue
A secret-word game with a Clue Master, a hidden Guide, and Seekers trying to find both the word and the player who already knows it.
Play Flow
Once at least 4 players join, the host starts the game.
The host becomes the Clue Master and sees the secret word plus the Guide.
The Guide sees the secret word and helps the group subtly.
Seekers see only the category and listen for clues.
The Clue Master reads question ideas and lets everyone answer briefly.
After discussion, the host starts guessing and chooses the group's answer.
If the group guesses correctly, everyone except the Clue Master votes for the Guide.
The room reveals the word, Guide, vote scores, and round result.
Roles
Clue Master: moderates the round, asks questions, and chooses the group answer. They are not voted on.
Guide: knows the word and helps the group without making it obvious.
Seekers: do not know the word and must identify both the answer and the Guide.
Good Question Ideas
If this word is a place or object, what would most people notice first?
How connected is this word to everyday life?
How would you describe it without saying its name?
Who seems to be steering the group too strongly?
Win Conditions
If the group guesses the word incorrectly, the trail fails immediately.
If the group guesses correctly and catches the Guide, the Seekers win.
If the group guesses correctly but votes for the wrong player, the Guide escapes.
Guide Tips
Do not hint too directly. Help with answers that feel natural.
A little hesitation can make you look less certain.
Avoid making your answers much more useful than everyone else's.
